What's included in your wedding ceremony

I’ll work with you to create a beautiful and personal ceremony script. You can write your own vows or we’ll come up with something together through a special ‘vow know-how’ session.

We can add in a symbolic or cultural element that’s meaningful to you. This could be something that’s just about the two of you or something that involves the guests. From ring-warming to handfasting, candle ceremonies to sand blending, flower exchanges to shared toasts - there are plenty of options to talk through and shape into something special for your event.

You may already have a strong vision or might prefer some guidance. Either way I’ll work with you to create a celebration that’s memorable and true to you.

How we'll work together

    Let's chat:

We’ll meet in person or by video call to talk through your expectations. I’ll outline how the process will work, and together we’ll get excited about the possibilities.

    Let's get personal:

Through a questionnaire and further meetings if you like, we’ll explore your story and ideas. I can help with suggestions for readings and for symbolic or cultural elements. If you like, we’ll have a dedicated 'vow know-how' session where we’ll work together to find just the right words that sit at the heart of the ceremony.

    Leave it with me:

I’ll take all the ideas away and will write a ceremony script that’s unique to you. We’ll work together on reviews if you like – or you can have an initial look over and then wait and hear it fresh on the big day.

    Nearly there:

We’ll catch up again closer to the wedding date. We can visit the venue together, or I can attend your rehearsal. I’ll also liaise with your other wedding suppliers so we’re all joined up around the ceremony and good to go.

    The big day:

I’ll arrive early to make sure everything’s ready, and will deliver your ceremony with professionalism, warmth and confidence. I’ll give you my full support throughout, and at the close of the event we’ll all be feeling all the feels.

Travel to venues within 25 miles of Lewes is included. Additional UK travel is charged at £0.45 per mile.

Ceremonies I especially love

While I'm happy to do all types of weddings, I really enjoy blended family ceremonies - celebrations that include the circles of family and friends that come together around a couple. I also love outdoor ceremonies, with the natural beauty of Sussex as the backdrop for vows.

Beautiful venues across Sussex

I'm delighted to work at venues throughout Sussex, from intimate garden settings to grand heritage sites. Some of my favourite locations include:

  • Knepp Estate, West Sussex - for couples who love nature and sustainability
  • Heritage sites and hotels - add your story to others from times gone by
  • Brighton Beach Club - perfect for including a Brighton vibe
  • Family gardens, farms and private estates -to create memories closer to home

If you have a venue in mind or would like suggestions that match your vision, I'm happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a celebrant-led ceremony different from a registrar wedding?

Rather than the set script of a registrar-led event, a celebrant ceremony is completely personalised - written specifically for you, built around your story, and incorporating elements that are meaningful to you. There are no restrictions on content or style. For example, you can add in faith-based elements or readings if they’re important to you. You’re also not restricted to using a licensed venue if you have a particular location in mind.
